Earls Court and Olympia have marked the end of 2009 in spectacular style with a range of new events including three hugely successful launch exhibitions.
The Fertility Show, London Vet Show and the London Running Show chose Olympia for their debut outings last month, with each reporting outstanding results.
The first London Vet Show took place at Olympia and aimed to attract 1,500 delegates. Phil Nelson, Commercial Director at organiser Closer Still said: “The venue helped us find a creative set of solutions to ensure an incredibly smooth running event. We were able to get almost 2,000 people into the venue with virtually no queuing and in time for the start. In the end delegates stayed for an average of almost 7 hours a day each and rated the event an amazing average of 4.68 out of 5 for the value for money it offered them. Our exhibitors loved it too. Almost 85% have already rebooked for next year and between them they have contracted to 40% more space than the event finished on this time.” The organiser plans to expand the show and move into Olympia’s National Hall next year.
The Fertility Show, which is aimed at those looking to start a family as well as anyone that has been trying for some time, attracted 3,000 paying visitors across two days. The show’s Managing Director, Jonathan Scott said: “Olympia was great and, as always, very supportive for this new launch particularly given the unusual subject of the event.”
As well as these successful launch shows, the venues have also recently hosted exclusive events such as T4’s Stars of 2009 and London Chess Classic for the first time.
