Both Earls Court and Olympia are set to join iconic venues across the world by turning off their lights for one hour on Saturday 27th March as part of the WWF’s Earth Hour initiative.
In partnership with events including the Ideal Home Show, A Place In The Sun Live and the Cruise Show, which are all in tenancy at the time, the West London venues will turn off all lights at 8.30pm for one hour in a bid to help raise awareness of climate change.
This is the second year that Earls Court and Olympia have taken part in the initiative. Emma Wellman, Sustainability Advisor said: “This is a fantastic project that unites landmarks across the globe. With our industry-leading sustainability programme we’re delighted to support such a high-profile and worthy cause.”
The project takes place just two weeks before Olympia plays host to UK Aware, the UK’s leading green and ethical lifestyle show. The show, which takes place between 16th-17th April, offers free seminars including debates and talks ranging from bees to biofuels, natural burials to eco-chic weddings, as well as hundreds of exhibitors offering wonderful products and services.
