Wines of South Africa has repositioned the biennial Mega Tasting as
Cape Wine Europe. The move will align the event, held at Earls Court in London, more closely with Cape Wine, the biennial event held in South Africa.
This year, Cape Wine Europe will be held on 11 and 12 October 2011 at Earl's Court and Wines of South Africa will be bringing visitors from an even wider range of countries, including Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Canada and the US. At Cape Wine Europe 2011 there will be several tables focusing on different varietals, a specialist Independents offering and a spotlight area on Fairtrade wines. There will also be several master classes taking place during the event.
The new website,
www.capewineeurope.com is currently under construction but further details about Cape Wine Europe will be available on this website shortly.
Commenting on the re-positioning Su Birch, Wines of South Africa CEO, said: “Cape Wine in South Africa is the Southern Hemisphere's most successful professional wine show and has become a highlight on the international calendar amongst both the trade and media internationally. The Mega Tasting is also a ‘must attend’ event in Europe and it therefore makes complete sense to align The Mega Tasting with Cape Wine and re-name the event Cape Wine Europe”.
